Feb 29 rally
Friday, February 29, 2008 / 6:47:00 PM
Went to school today to pay for our field trip this coming Sunday. After paying, our professor shouted at us saying that we need to hurry because we will go to Makati to join the rally. Of course, we reacted. Gasps, shouts, questions. One student said that her mother will get mad at her. His answer? "Anong magagalit ang nanay mo? Eh bakit ka niya pinag-aral aral sa UP kung hindi ka hahayaan sa rally? Magche-check ako ng attendance doon at pag wala kayo, -50 kayo." (That means, if 100 ang grade mo, -50, 50 na lang. And 50=5.0.) Napakaclear naman di ba?! BLOCK MAIL. I immediately texted my mom about this. She said no (and I thank her for that) and we will face the consequences if I will not join.

First, there are other ways at hindi lang rally ang sagot. God loves peace. Third, I know that God has a reason why He led Ptr. Sumrall to preach what he preached last Sunday (change starts not in the government but in the people's hearts).

They say that in UP, they practice freedom.

While watching the news, I can't help but feel sad about what's happening. Not because of the corrupt government. I am sad because people cannot be contented. I mean, kahit sinong pangulo naman ang umupo, laging may reklamo. Laging gusto nila paalisin. Laging masama. Wala talagang kontento ang tao. Saka bakit government ang palagi nilang pinupuntirya? Gaya ng sabi ko sa previous post ko, all of us are part of this country. Hindi lang ang gobyerno. Hindi lang ang gobyerno ang dapat magbago. PATI TAYO. WE ARE ALL FILIPINOS.

Mas gusto ko mag-aral for my exam tomorrow kesa maglakad hanggang Makati.

I may sound selfish but it's me.

Yes, I want change. Kundi buong Pilipinas. And when I say buong Pilipinas, kasama ako doon. Ako. Ikaw. Tayo. Gobyerno.

Hindi lang ang gobyerno ang may problema. Pati tayo.

The best answer is prayer. Malamang may nagsasabing "Ang corny mo naman." But we should never underestimate the power of prayer. God is all powerful.

Hmph!

Hindi man ako sumasali sa rally, kasama naman ako sa mga nagdadasal for the betterment of our country.

********

Naiinis ako sa inyo. Kung gusto niyo sumama eh di sumama kayo. Walang pumipigil sa inyo. Tsssss.

Heal the world, make it a better place...
Sunday, February 24, 2008 / 2:06:00 PM
Last weekend was my most memorable weekend ever. The weekend that we went to Hundred Islands. I will never forget that trip.

Because of Hundred Islands, I now have second thoughts: will I go to Canada and live there OR will I just stay here in our beautiful country and work here?

Yes I know. Since high school, I always tell myself that I will never ever work here in the Philippines because she is a 'poor' country and her government officials are VERY corrupt. (I was such an anti-Philippines girl back then)

But after seeing Hundred Islands, tears began to fall. I was thinking, "God Philippines is a very beautiful country. She is so rich in natural resources. But why is she a 'poor' country? Why is she listed as a Third World Country?"

My question was answered last night during Ptr. Sumrall's offering thought: Our prosperity depends on our hearts. We should not blame our corrupt government officials. Change should start in every Filipino's heart; in our hearts, in my heart.

Jeremiah 29:07 teaches us to seek the peace and prosperity of our land through prayer. We always hear that we should never underestimate prayer. This is so true.

All we need is just a little prayer, faith in God, and hope. We also need to change our hearts and our way of thinking. In the first place, we LIVE in the Philippines. The officials are not the only one who will change and is responsible for the betterment of our country. We also need to change because we are part of this country.

Our government is not perfect. We have so many corrupt officials. The least we can do is pray for them. To change the world, we first need to change ourselves, our hearts. =)

Hundred Islands Experience
Wednesday, February 20, 2008 / 8:59:00 PM
February 16, 2008, Saturday.
My long awaited wait was over! Finally, makakapag-detoxify na! First day of our Natural Science 4 field trip. The destination? Hundred Islands men! Yes! I was super excited because I love to travel and I love the water!!

Went to school at around 6am. The meet-up was supposed to be 6am and departure was 6:30am. And 7am na nakaalis. We were about 30 and 3 vans ang nagamit namin. Sir was with us sa van kaya super enjoy. The trip was around 5-6 hours and nakaka-"busog" ang sights. Ang ganda. Nature lover!

We had a site assessment and did an activity then we reported it. Then, we made a music video. Haha! Nagwala talaga kami! Nawala lahat ng stress sa mundo. =)

Slept at around 11:30pm.

(from left to right, top to bottom)
1) inside the van before departure, 2) showcasing the shades that my honey gave me, 3) picture picture with Jollibee sa first stop over namin, 4) Daphnae enjoying Tempura, 5) a picture taken sa another stop over namin, 6) ice cream eating with edz and jeme, 7) finally, we're in alaminos!, 8) outside the inn, 9) jeme taking a photo of the flowers in our inn's mini-garden, 10) higa na! kakapagod byahe, 11) the boats that will take us to Hundred Islands, 12) yes Jeme, I agree. payat ka dito =) 13) the soon-to-be-sunset haha, 14) another picture of the boats, 15) the sun, and 16) the wind. haha!

February 17, 2008, Sunday.
Woke up at around 4:30am. Basta nagising lang ako. Had our breakfast then off we went to the islands! I really loved the boat ride because there were waves. So parang dinuduyan kami nung boat. Hindi naman ako natakot. Then tumatalsik talsik pa water sakin. Hehehe.

Nadaanan din namin ang Governor's Island where Kim and Gerald spent their last week sa PBB Teen Edition. Hmmm. Maliit lang pala yung house. Or akala ko lang? Hehehe.

We also saw the island where Marina was shot.

Then went to Quezon Island, the biggest island. We got lost! Haha! Eh kasi ba naman, before mag-CR, nagsenti-sentihan pose pa kami. Haha! Nawala tuloy. But after mga 15 minutes, we heard their voices at nakita na namin sila. =)

Then we went to _______ Island (forgot the name) and we stayed there for around 3 hours. Dun kami nag-swimming. May na-sting pa ng jellyfish! Buti hindi ako yun. Hehe. I applied 3 layers of sunblock; first: when I woke up. Second, before departure. Then third, bago mag-swimming. And I tell you: Effective! Hindi ako umitim. Hahaha!

I really really really really really love the water that's why spent 90% of the time na nagswi-swimming. Chinase ko yung mga isda. Hehe. According kay Edz, maliliit na bangus daw yun. =)

Namulot din ako ng shell. Then we made sand castles, na nauwi sa paggawa ng girl version ni Oble! Hehe. Hahaha! Kaya nga girl version ni Oble eh. Hihi.

But syempre, kailangan na umuwi. Nakakalungkot. But we had to face the reality. We had to go back to our normal lives. And that includes STRESS...

(from left to right, top to bottom)
1) daybreak the Hundred Islands way, 2) the sea... so calm..., 3) ang ganda ng clouds. thank you, Lord, 4) parang may curtains, 5) the boat kung saan kami sumakay, 6) Quezon Island, 7) senti daw. eto ang dahilan bakit kami nawala. haha!, 8) i love this pic! parang nasa picture frame si edz, 9) si Sir MK!, 10) awwww... so sweet. Lovely love Ephraim =), 12) ang clear ng water. you can see my havs!, 13) the PBB house, 14) the island where we swam, 15) daph, kim, edz, and me, and 16) last pic sa Hundred Islands before going back to Manila... =(

The Hundred Islands experience was one of a kind. So far, this was the best field trip na napuntahan ko. Philippines is a very beautiful country. So sana, take time to visit our country. Madaming magandang places dito, masyado lang nating minamaliit.

Next stop? Mt. Banahaw! I am looking forward to this field trip kasi medyo may hiking kami or whatever.

My goal? Malibot ang Philippines before malibot ang mundo!!! =)

Movies to watch this V day. =)
Thursday, February 14, 2008 / 7:19:00 PM
Some of my favorite love stories of all time... =) These movies are highly recommended!!! =)

1. A Walk To Remember. Starring Mandy Moore and Shane West. This movie is soooo touching. Makes you want to fall in love... Also, read the book! Mas detailed! =) "Take the risk. Dare to move. Love is a leap of faith."

2. 50 First Dates. A romantic comedy film starring Drew Barrymoore and Adam Sandler.

3. The Notebook. A tear jerker, just like A Walk To Remember. Also a novel from Nicholas Sparks!

4. The Lakehouse. My favorite line? The one that Sandra Bullock said... "You waited." This movie is all about waiting for the perfect timing. And I'm so glad they both waited for each other. =) Starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. "What if you found... the one you were meant for... but you lived two years apart..."

5. Message in a Bottle. Another novel that was brought to "life". A novel by Nicholas Sparks! Starring Robin Wright Penn, Kevin Costner, and Paul Newman... Definitely a tear jerker...

6. Music and Lyrics. I love this movie's song, Way Back Into Love.

7. PS I Love You. "His life ended... But a new life... Starts now..." I love the book more but still, the movie is good. =)

8. If Only. The best movie I've ever seen. Love is really all about sacrifice. Prepare lots and lots and lots and lots of hankies! I love this film!

Enjoy watching! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!! =) Thanks for the trailers, YouTube! =)

tipid mode this valentine's day
Sunday, February 10, 2008 / 7:39:00 PM
WARNING: If you're a fan of Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez, as in avid fan, then don't read this. This blog entry is just the author's opinion. If ever that you'll hate me for writing this, go ahead. I don't care. Anyway, this is my blogspot site. So please. Leave it alone. Thank you.

I'm having second thoughts. I don't know if I'll join my friends or not this Valentine's Day if ever they'll be watching a movie.

First, I don't like the movie. I just realized that I don't like it's plot. It's so common. And I don't like the idea of Marian Rivera pretending to like Richard Gutierrez (and vice versa) just because they have an upcoming movie. It's so obvious! Why do they have to pretend? If they are really good actors, they don't need to pretend! (This is the reason why I like ABS-CBN's love teams more than GMA's; they don't pretend that they like each other just to make kita. Look at Sam and Toni. Toni has a boyfriend. But people accept her team up with Sam even if everyone knows that there's really nothing going on between the two of them! And also John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. Bea has a boyfriend, Mico Palanca, and John Lloyd has a girlfriend, the Chinese girl - I just don't know if sila pa rin. But people looooove them!) The point is, LOVE TEAMS DON'T HAVE TO PRETEND PARA LANG KUMITA. IF THEY ARE CONFIDENT ENOUGH NA KIKITA ANG MOVIE NILA EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT AN ITEM, THEY WILL NEVER PRETEND.

Second, nagtitipid ako. If ever I'll watch that movie, hindi sa movie house dahil hindi ko naman gusto yung movie, and sayang lang ang P130 ko dahil hindi ko nga gusto yung plot. If ever I'll watch the movie, DVD na lang. Saka I'm saving up para sa Hundred Islands field trip namin this coming Saturday (yesssss!). Kaya ayun.

And then I read Jamie's blog saying that there is a probability that she'll be doing something on the 14th. Interviewing for their Comm3 class. So hindi talaga kami kumpleto this Valentine's kung matuloy man siya.

Guess I'll be spending Valentine's Day this year at home. Kasi we do believe na hindi lang once a year ang Valentine's. Pwedeng maging Valentine's Day kahit hindi February 14. =)) I am home... But certainly not alone! Because Sims2 will keep me company. =) Hahahaha!

My Bestfriend's Girlfriend vs. My Big Love
Thursday, February 7, 2008 / 12:12:00 AM
This is just the blogger's opinion.

Valentine's day is fast approaching! And as usual, Star Cinema and GMA films will be "competing" for viewers. Though hindi sabay ipapalabas ang My Bestfriend's Girlfriend (February 13) and My Big Love (February 27), madami pa rin ang mas na-eexcite sa My Big Love. Including me.

Mas "unique" kasi ang story ng My Big Love. Kasi here, makikita mo ang true love eh. Acceptance. Unlike in BFGF, parang simple boy meets girl, girl falls in love with boy, happily ever after. Parang ganun. Well, parang ganun din naman yung My Big Love, but may kaunting diversity.

And sa aking pagreresearch, napag-alaman kong mayroong movie sa ibang bansa na ang title naman ay My Girlfriend's Boyfriend. Hahaha! Originality sa title? Anyone? I'm just not sure if the story is the same and I'm also not sure if mayroong "My Big Love" na title na movie sa ibang bansa.

So, to help people decide kung saan mas sulit ang pera nila, eto and trailers ng My Bestfriend's Girlfriend and My Big Love... (courtesy of YouTube).

My Bestfriend's Girlfriend (GMA Films)
Starring: Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez

My Big Love (Star Cinema)
Starring: Kristine Hermosa, Toni Gonzaga, and Sam Milby

In fairness, Sam and Toni really gives me the kilig that I want!!!

new skin!
Wednesday, February 6, 2008 / 11:42:00 PM
I decided to change my blogspot skin. But I don't really like it. Nagsawa na lang ako kakahanap ng plain white and pink or black and pink na layout kaya I settled for this skin. And I'm too lazy to do my own skin. So, next time na lang ako magpapalit. Hehehe.

So here's the thing. I really find it funny when I see couples fighting. Especially young couples (high school and college couples). They look so cute!

Scenario #1: The girl frowns. The guy pleads for her forgiveness. The girl will make sungit, pakipot mode, busangot. The guy will continue to ask for her forgiveness. Then after an hour, you will see them na very sweet nanaman.

Scenario #2: The girl and guy will fight at the top of their lungs. The guy will leave the girl. The girl will just stand there, watching the guy as he leaves. After 10 minutes, the girl will decide to run and chase the guy.

Scenario #3: Just like scenario #2. Just replace girl with guy, and guy with girl.

Actually, madami pa. Hehehe. But I just don't want to "expose" the different scenearios that one can see when young couples have their "occasional" misunderstandings. To think that almost 98% of their LQs are just petty fights and misunderstandings!

And I also find it funny that I find young couples fighting funny when in fact, Eph and moi are like them. (But as always, Eph is the one who first admits his errors and asks for forgiveness. He hates LQs.)

Yes. The mentioned scenarios already happened to me. To us. And as I look back on our LQs, I find myself smiling, and laughing, not out of amusement, but out of shame. Grabe! Here I am, laughing sa LQs ng ibang couples without me thinking that that couples I am laughing at are like us. Hahaha! Wala lang.

This is the effect (is effect the right word?) of seeing Kuya Ian and his gf fighting in front of UPM while his gf is smoking and frowning and Kuya Ian was showing her his puppy dog eyes. Hahaha!

Isang walang kwentang post. =)
