So many things to do [post #138]
Tuesday, June 30, 2009 / 8:38:00 PM
Whew! I have so many things to do. Because it's too many, I do not really know where to start.
All of my classes on Friday have exams. And these are not just short quizzes. Loooooooong quizzes. All of those are not major exams but we have to study too many terms. God help me.
Another thing. They are not moving the schedule of our prelims even if the opening of classes were moved! That's why all our professors are discussing so fast, giving us all sorts of assignments (like there's no tomorrow), and bombarding us with dozens of quizzes. (Oh my. I just realized I'm actually whining.)
Oh well. I cannot do anything about it. Just like what our Psy 107 prof said: "Do not complain. You enrolled in this subject so do not complain." Of course he (or she?) was smiling and laughing while he (or she?) was saying that which means that he's only joking but still. There's truth to what he (or she?) said. Complaining will not help me get anywhere. It will not help me accomplish anything. And most of all, God hates complaining.
So I just have to shut up, stop complaining, and start doing the things that I need to do to lessen the load.
I know God is with me to help me finish everything. Thank God because I have GOD on my side helping me every step of the way. =)

Did I really think I will be that mature when I turn 18?
After reading
my post last 2007 about me turning 18, I laughed. Laughed because I was so naive then. Maybe now, I am still naive, but still, I was SO naive then. Imagine thinking that being 18 = maturity! (I'm so mean. I'm laughing at myself.)
I know it is still months away before I say goodbye to my teen years. But I think, when I turn 20, I'm still not that mature.
Most people expect that once you turn the big 2-0, you're already working. Or you're starting to save for your future. Or you're close to thinking about marriage. But when I turn 20... I'm still studying. I still don't have enough savings to start a family. And I still don't have money for my wedding. (Hahahaha!)
Sure, I can get to vote. But do I think I'm already mature when I turn 20? I don't think so.
I think being 20 is just a number. It's just something you tell people when they ask you how old you are. It's just something that needs to be said. But it doesn't necessarily reflect who you are.
I will just enjoy my youth.
Will I be mature? Of course.
But I am not in a rush. I'll enjoy every minute of my remaining teenage life. Taking things one step at a time is the best way to achieve maturity. It is the best way to live your life.

Cough. Cough. Cough. [post #132]
/ 9:32:00 PM
I have dry cough. It's really itchy.
Cough. Cough. Cough.
Good thing there are no classes tomorrow because Malacanang announced that tomorrow is a holiday for all Manilenos (tomorrow is Manila Day). That means I can rest this cough and hopefully, by Friday (I have no classes every Thursday), I'm well again.

Update for the Day [post #129]
Thursday, June 18, 2009 / 6:55:00 PM
Oh my. I spent almost all day in front of my laptop checking my e-mail,
plurk,
twitter,
facebook,
friendster,
multiply, and blogspot accounts. This is what happens when I've got nothing to do. I still haven't met any of my professors yesterday and today is my "day off" because I have no classes.
My mom and I went to PLDT this morning to inquire about their DSL then we went to Isetann and SM Quiapo to window shop. But I ended up buying a nail polish and a new pair of school shoes (with heels!).
I know I already wrote this in my previous entries but I am really excited for this coming sem. Tomorrow, hopefully, our Psy 107 prof will meet us and tell us more about the subject we'll be taking.
And then my mind went blank. Ugh. I can't think of anything to write.

Excited Much [post #128]
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 / 7:43:00 PM
Finally, I'm finished!
I got the Fil 2A schedule that I wanted. I only have to pay my tuition fee then I'm done!
I was planning on taking up Eng 1 this sem but no institute, not even one, is offering this subject this sem. Guess I have to try next sem.
I only have 5 subjects (2 of them are psychology subjects (yipee!)).
I'm really excited because I'll be taking up 2 psychology subjects this sem. I am ready, more than ready, to learn more!
Everything that happened today really tested my patience:
- I waited in line just to get inside the campus. Before we can enter the campus, the guard needs to check our temperature (because of the A(H1N1) outbreak) using a thermal scanner to make sure that we don't have a fever. Umabot 'yung pila hanggang sa susunod na kanto, no exaggerations!
- I waited for about 30 minutes na magbukas 'yung venue for enrollment ng psych majors.
- We waited for our Devt Psych prof who never came.
- I waited for about 4 hours just to have one subject enrolled.
- I waited for another hour just to get my COR printed.
I was about to pay my tuition fee after everything I did but I was dead tired and I know I cannot wait in line anymore. My body is still adjusting (because puro pahinga lang ang ginawa ko the past few months! *wink*).
I'm really optimistic sa incoming sem. I know, and I feel, that I will have one of the best sems I've ever had. =))

Proud [post #126]
/ 10:06:00 AM
I congratulate my chef for his new job.
He's now working at a fine dining restaurant in Makati. The owners of the restaurant are the same owners of Embassy (excluding Yap). His position is the third highest position a chef in that restaurant can get.
The restaurant is not yet open but it will soon be and he just started his training last June 15. His soon-to-be salary? Well, it will be 60% higher than his previous salary when he was still working in Laguna. =)
He still hasn't find a place where he will permanently live (hopefully near his working place) so right now, he's temporarily staying at his grandmother's house just 10 minutes (30 minutes tops!) away from our house in Manila! Yey! He's now just an LRT (or a jeepney) ride away from me. =)
God is so good to him! So much blessings!
Congratulations my chef Eph. =) I'm so proud of you.

Monday, June 15, 2009 / 1:43:00 PM
My apologies for not updating my blog these past few days (or shall I say weeks).
Many things happened since my last post and one of those was the death of my first ever pet dog, Bubbles. We had dogs then but Bubbles was the first ever dog that I really took care of. She was my parents' elementary graduation gift to me. She was a bit spoiled (OK, not just a bit but really spoiled) and because of that she became a brat. She would sometimes growl whenever we try to get the filthy clothes she is lying on or she will sometimes bark at people who say how cute she is. But still, I loved her.
She got pregnant thrice and gave us 12 puppies (one of them died). Her last puppy was Jeff-Jeff which became very close to me. Because of Bubbles’ “mood swings”, we decided not to bring her to Manila with me when I moved (for college). I decided to bring Jeff-Jeff instead.
Last May 30, while I was in SmartBro to have my internet reconnected, I received a text message from my dad saying that he found Bubbles dead when he was about to feed her. We do not know why, maybe because of old age. I even remember telling my dad before I went to Manila 2 days before she died: take care of Bubbles because she’s now getting old and please clean her eyes whenever you can.
I knew she would die soon but I never expected that she will die that soon.
I’m thanking God for the good 7 years that Bubbles gave us. Though she was a spoiled brat, there were still days that she gave us joy and made us smile.

You’ll always be remembered, my baby Bubbles...

On a lighter note, classes were moved from the 8th to the 17th because of the now pandemic A(H1N1) virus. The FEU admin said that they decided to move the start of classes for fumigation but about two days after their announcement, one Filipina student who came from Japan studying in FEU-EAC was confirmed of A(H1N1). Thank God He kept me, and the other students, safe from the pandemic.

I cannot wait to go back to school. I’m really bored! I thought the thought of an extended vacation was... good but it is not! I gained a lot (for my size, it’s a lot) of weight because of doing nothing these past two months.
Am I ready to go back to school on the 17th?
YOU BET I AM!

A(H1N1) in FEU [post #124]
Sunday, June 7, 2009 / 2:03:00 PM
Last Friday, classes were moved from June 8 to June 17 (according to the admin of FEU). Fumigation daw. But they said that there is still no reported case of A(H1N1) in FEU.
Yesterday, while watching, nabalita sa ABS-CBN that there is one confirmed case of A(H1N1) in FEU. I'm just not sure if the person is a student or if the person studies (or works) in FEU-EAC.
Even if this is the case, I know that I shall not fear because God is my protector and I know He used my anti-flu vaccination last Saturday and He's using the vitamins I'm taking to strengthen my immune system.
Just like what He said, "Thou shall not fear".

JYLC time [post #123]
/ 1:59:00 PM

Last Wednesday was JYLC's overnight at Chellie's place. I missed bonding with them!
We had so much fun. This only proves that being in different universities is not a hindrance for us.
'Til next time JYC! Sana someday dito naman kayo sa Pampanga makapag-overnight. Someday. =)
